Gigs are starting to pick up for us, and there was a good one at Witham Public Hall in Essex, with John Lewis and his Trio visiting from Wales. It was a balmy -5C outside and not that warmer in the hall, however the lads played a blinder. It's the first time we've seen them since bass player Woody moved to the USA, but Darren Richards slotted in perfectly.

Really fine brace of sets and plenty of banter from Polo and his partners in crime, and good to see many local fans turn out to see them. Club owners around the country, check them out, their playlist is varied and versatile.
The month of August has two cracking festivals, both under canvas. The Rock Ridge Rumble must be the premier festival of it's type in the North East of England. This year's event has a varied and rocking line up, and now includes a Thursday night pre-party. Previous week to that is the Country music festival Rock Ridge Round up, which a lot of people attend and stay a week for the Rumble.
As for Atomic, readers, there has been a number of announcements in the past couple of days that basically put, are mouthwatering. The Pee Wee King show at the Rhythm Riot, was a revelation. So many people reacted to it on social media, and indeed you can read about it in our Weekender Reviews section. Then add to that the two forces of nature in the shape of Scotty Baker and Darrell Higham, performing an Eddie Cochran show, as seen at the 2016 Rave, and another success from the Riot, the fabulous Vicky Tafoya and the Big Beat.
