We have been back on the road again, with two road trips to opposing poles of the country. First it was to Hopetown, in Normanton West Yorkshire.
Rockin at the Hopetown is a top night out. A good venue at the Liberal Club, spacious dancefloor and cheap bar. Both of which you need as Jimbo, the resident DJ plays some top stuff.
The band for the night were Mischief!, yes the '!' is essential. If you haven't seen these lads from Holland before, make sure you do soon. You will not be disappointed, as they are both enthusiastic and musically adept. Their harmonies are excellent, as is their choice of music. You get another chance to enjoy them as they play the Starfighter Club in Norfolk on December the 19th with John Lewis and his Trio.
The following weekend it was down to Memphis Belles Rock n Roll Club in Mytchett, Surrey. One tangled mess had been sorted out by Scott Elvis and Rebekah Mailley to ensure the gig featuring Legal Tender, supporting the Bellfuries from Austin, Texas. This gig turned out to be a real treat, with a sell out crowd, DJs Colin Silcocks and Suzy Q hitting the high spots with their selections. Memphis Belles Rock n Roll Club will now have regular events in 2016, check out their Facebook page and the gig guide for details
The flyer for 2016's gigs is out already and there are some super nights in prospect with acts like Little Esther and the Rumblebeats, Louis King from Australia with CC Jerome and the Jetsetters, and The Ringtones from France. The flyer will appear in future blogs, as it got rather crumpled in transit from the venue to home.
Check out the review of Jack and the Real Deals new CD on our CD reviews area of the site.
The Pyramid Rockabilly Club in Hertfordshire continues to put on some ace nights, and above is the flyer for the start of 2016. There are two events left in 2015 as well, click on the flyer to take you to the page for further details.
So, Autumn, the weather might be getting chilly, but the rockin' is still hot.
