A lot of quality on show, including Young Jessie, Jai Malano, Little Rachel, Vicky Tafoya, Annita and the Starbombers and the excellent Barnstompers, who played the very first Riot. The styles of music were mixed and blended well. You had the straight ahead Rock n Roll sounds of the Bluejays, western swing from the Barnstompers and R&B from the three ladies and Mike Sanchez on the Sunday night. The Riot celebrates it's twentieth year in 2016, and the line up is already out and nearly complete. Take it from me, it's a beauty. Depending on when you read this blog, the Riot review might already have been posted, but at the time of writing, I'll say, look out for it within the reviews on the weekender section of this site
Word has it that there is a new CD on the way, and not before time. It's a gimmie that it's going to be a good one, but look out for a review on the relevant section of this website
New Year's Eve sees the return of Jump Back Boogie to Witham Public Hall. This year, Adrian Waters shares the DJ duties with Annaleigh MacLeod, while the live act is the dependable Doggone Honkabillies. There'll be plenty of R&B and Rock n Roll as well as a serious dollop of Western Swing and Hillbilly. Booking is advisable, click on the link for details
Also for those planning a bit further ahead, there's Atomic. This is the third Atomic, and promises to be another beauty, judging by the line up. Plus there's the bonus of Friday night, with the Jets. Last Atomic it was the Revolutionaires that packed the hangar out on the Friday night, I'm pretty sure the Jets will do the same.
