Our major sortie this month was the third Rock Ridge Rumble, held in Stanley, Durham. Well, the word 'quagmire' (not only a great word, but scores plenty at scrabble) was probably the most used over the weekend, as from the previous weekend (when the country music version of the Rumble takes place) it had rained solidly.
Central to this plough-up, was a marquee that was well populated throughout the weekend. There were some ace performances from a variety of rockin' bands from all corners of the country. Top among them were local lads, the Infernos, with Ian Rhodes (pictured above) tearing it up on lead guitar.
We were made up for the organisers, who had drawn a good crowd of campers and visitors to the site throughout the event, and it's encouraging to see that they have already scheduled next year's event, Friday 5th Monday August 7th 2016. Keep checking their Facebook site, https://www.facebook.com/RockRidgeRumble for details. A full review will appear on this site soon.
Here's Rusti Steel pictured at the Starfighter, from July. Just one of the many tip top acts that Roland Purdy puts on at the club, and at the end of August they have the excellent RJ, and in September, The Barnstompers. Both acts are from Holland, and are bound to rock the house.
Gary Denton has the Skiprats coming down from the North East to play at his club, which you can check out by clicking on the flyer posted below (check out also the links page, ABCreative, who designed the flyer)
You can also click on the Mid Century Market poster which will take you to the Facebook event from Bettina Scarlett. A hugely popular and well attended event, boasts a number of premier vendors, a list of which can be located at the Facebook page too.
Oh, and a feather in the Bettajive Review cap, our interview with Scotty Baker was posted on the site a couple of weeks ago. This is a website exclusive folks, and we were pleased to finally have a chat with him, in single figure decibels. Check it out at the 'interviews' section of this site, to read it in it's entirety.
OK readers, that's it for this month. Keep coming back to our site folks, it changes pretty much weekly. We'll see you on the dancefloor
